Java History

Java is a programming language originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler object model and fewer low-level facilities. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode (class file) that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture.
Sun released the first public implementation as Java 1.0 in 1995. It promised "Write Once, Run Anywhere" (WORA), providing no-cost run-times on popular platforms

Primary goals

There were five primary goals in the creation of the Java language.
It should be "simple, object oriented, and familiar.
It should be "robust and secure".
It should be "architecture neutral and portable".
It should execute with "high performance".
It should be "interpreted, threaded, and dynamic.

Why We Use Java?

When anyone ask me why we use java?we can use .net for programming it is easy and why we use java? Then my answer is that java is open source progamming it is also multiopearting system .when we compare java ns .net progamming all topic come from java.We can say that .net is copy of java. All .net topic come java. we can run Java on many multioperating System but devloped on many operating system but .net application run on window system and developed on window system. So i say java is better than .net.why i waste money on same thing when i m getting one thing free and for same thing i will pay.
